2nd Open Tryout Date Announced!

 Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Coming off of the extremely successful November open-tryouts, the Chicago Slaughter, of the Indoor Football League (IFL), have announced they will offer a 2nd open tryout date to take place in early January for the 2010 season. The Slaughter are extending an invitation to athletes 18 and older looking to demonstrate their skills and begin a professional indoor football career. The Slaughter are entering into their fourth season of play and are looking to defend their undefeated 2009 Championship season as they compete in the IFL as one of 7 new expansion teams in the 2010 season set to begin in late February. All Slaughter home games are played at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Slaughter head coach and former Chicago Bears Super Bowl XX Champion Steve “Mongo” McMichael will be joined by the Slaughter coaching staff in evaluating new talent for the 2010 season.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, January 9th from Noon until 4:00 PM, with registration from 11:00AM – Noon, at The Megaplex Sports Center. The Megaplex is a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility located at 15301 S Bell Rd, Homer Glen, IL. Registration for the free agent camp is $50 dollars per person. Athletes of all skill levels are encouraged to tryout and live their dream of becoming a professional indoor football player. Players must bring their own workout attire and cleats for the indoor facility and must be 18 years of age or older to tryout.

“We are very excited to announce our second tryout for the 2010 season,” said Alan Perkins, General Manager of the Slaughter. “You simply don’t know where the next great player may come from. Our first tryout was very successful and I believe this one will be just as positive.”
