Slaughter Lose Heartbreaker in IFL Debut

Hoffman Estates, IL – On the team’s Championship Celebration Night, the Chicago Slaughter (0-1) lost to the Rochester Raiders (1-0)) in their Indoor Football League debut, 49-47, on an Adam Lanctot 37-yard field goal with no time left in the game. QB Mike Donato led the Slaughter, going 16-30 for 186 yards and three total touchdowns. WR De’Cody Fagg hauled in seven passes for 139 yards and two scores, while RB Jarrett Payton rushed for 34 yards and two total touchdowns.
The team traded field goals through the first quarter until the Slaughter reached into their bag of tricks on offense. Payton, who normally runs the football, threw the game’s first touchdown on a 34-yard halfback option pass to Fagg to put the team up 10-6 in the second quarter. After two consecutive touchdowns by Rochester, Chicago got back on the board with a 3-yard touchdown strike from Donato to WR Brandon Watts to make the score 20-17. Rochester tacked on another field goal to push the score to 23-17 at halftime.
After Rochester took a commanding 37-20 lead in the second half, the Slaughter fought back to take a brief lead 41-40 on touchdown runs by Payton and Donato. The team then traded touchdowns until Lanctot put Rochester up for good with his last second field goal.Read more

Hoffman Estates, IL – On the team’s championship celebration night, the Chicago Slaughter is losing to the Rochester Raiders 23-17 at halftime in their first game in the Indoor Football League. The team raised their 2009 Continental Indoor Football League Championship banner before the game, and new Slaughter owner, Bears legendary QB Jim McMahon, took part with a ceremonial handoff to Slaughter RB Jarrett Payton.Read more

Hoffman Estates, IL – The Chicago Slaughter teamed up with the Walter and Connie Payton Foundation this past weekend to host the 1st Annual Chicago Slaughter Charity Poker Tournament at the Sears Centre Arena. Considerable money was raised for the foundation and the tournament's winner, Dominick Vespo, won the tournament’s grand prize: a seat the World Series of Poker Main Event this summer.Read more

Momentum Continues to Grow Heading Into 2010 Season
CHICAGO – The Chicago Slaughter, the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, has announced Jim McMahon as new team owner heading into the 2010 season. McMahon, known as the “Punky QB,” led the Chicago Bears to their 1985 Super Bowl victory and was a fan favorite throughout his tenure with the team. McMahon’s ownership role is another sign of momentum for the organization which continues to benefit from the expertise provided by the legendary former Chicago Bears greats who have been attracted to this winning team. Fellow 1985 Chicago Bears star Steve “Mongo” McMichael serves as the team’s head coach and Jarrett Payton, son of legendary Chicago Bears great Walter Payton, was announced last month as the team’s new running back. In 2009, the Chicago Slaughter went undefeated in winning the CIFL Championship. The Chicago Slaughter is entering into their fourth season of play and will compete in the IFL, the most competitive indoor football league in the nation, during the 2010 season. Read more

Chicago Slaughter Announce Signing Of Jarrett Payton For 2010 Season
CHICAGO -The Chicago Slaughter, the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, has signed Jarrett Payton, son of legendary Chicago Bears great Walter Payton, as the team's new running back for the 2010 season. Payton will play under the direction of head coach and former teammate of his father's, fellow 1985 Super Bowl Chicago Bears star Steve "Mongo" McMichael. The marquee signing demonstrates continued momentum heading into the new season, coming off the heels of the Slaughter's undefeated championship season in 2009. The announcement was made at press conference held earlier today in downtown Chicago. Payton will honor his father's legacy by wearing #34 during the 2010 season with the Chicago Slaughter.

The Chicago Slaughter, of the Indoor Football League (IFL), officially announced their 2010 team schedule, which will be their inaugural season within the IFL. The team will begin their season at home on Saturday, February 27th, at 7:05pm against the Rochester Raiders. The IFL regular season will run for 17 weeks with three or four weeks of playoffs to follow. Each home game this season will be individually themed throughout the 2010 Slaughter season. On Opening Night, the team will commemorate the 2009 undefeated championship team as the team will host Championship Celebration Night on February 27th. Hoffman Estates – The Chicago Slaughter are extending an invitation to women aged 18 and older looking to demonstrate their dance skills and become a member of the 2010 Chicago Slaughter Dance Team. The dance team performs during Chicago Slaughter home games including a special halftime program. The team also takes an active role in community outreach to encourage health and fitness. Esteemed dance team director, Wynne Lacey, will be evaluating new talent for the 2010 season. Lacey’s experience includes being the dance director of the Chicago Rush, Chicago Blackhawks Ice Crew, the White Sox Pride Crew and the Chicago Slaughter (2009). “The 2009 season saw a changing of the guard in the leadership of the dance team when Wynne Lacey (Wynning Teams LLC) took over as the director”, said Slaughter GM, Alan Perkins. “Wynne's experience and knowledge are second to none in this industry.
